Latchkey is a rough terrain tracking monster. It's powerful legs allow it to swiftly jump over large obstacles and grab things pretty well too.

I had based him off of a few things; one, my complete adoration of the original monster (the one with the kitty skull) from the short film 9. Second, my want to make some crazy creature with larger feet that it should have. Thirdly, the desire to use my various latch pieces that have been sitting around a while.

It all got tossed together to make this, thing. Hopefully it's recognizable as a creature. If not well, eh, I tried.

Also? About the name? It's totally a latchkey kid. I mean, just look at it.

Materials:

Steel stock: 1/4” round bar, 5/8” round bar, 5/8” flat bar, 1/8” flat bar, 1/16” sheet, 1/2” ball bearings 1/16” flat bar . Everything else: 21 door latches, a bathroom sink faucet handle, juvenile coyote shoulder blades, 21mm glass lens small red halogen lamp, plastic coated house wire, extension cord, sisal, hemp cord, miscellaneous nuts and bolts.
